Researchers of the University of Debrecen have made an interesting discovery while they were examining the genetic programs of cells.
Bálint László Bálint, leader of the laboratory of the Genomic Medicine and Bioinformatic Core Facility, Dóra Bojcsuk, PhD student and Gergő Nagy, assistant research fellow have made a major discovery in understanding the genetic program of cells, concerning the cause of the emergence of cancer. They were studying the role of super-enhancers in the development of diseases from a whole new perspective; they have reached to a conclusion that could influence the efficiency of genetic manipulation methods.
The article was published in the prestigious Oxford University Press and also in Nucleic Acids Research.
