In addition to its international success, the University of Debrecen aims to provide its students with high-quality knowledge and diplomas through long-term sustainable operations, said György Kossa, Chairman of the Board of the István Gróf Tisza Foundation for the University of Debrecen in the M5 Libretto program.
In the interview, György Kossa emphasized that the foundation and its board of trustees are a strategic organization, through the management of which the institution has all the conditions for development.
On the one hand, we have been able to provide financing conditions with the help of the Hungarian government that can help long-term operations, but we are also able to generate additional resources from our own finances for smooth operation, higher value diplomas and the necessary knowledge.

Regarding the financing, he emphasized in the interview: the aim is that educators and researchers do not have to deal with livelihood problems, one of the basic conditions of which is to increase the level of income, and the other is to create institutional and individual expectation systems; both are pillars of sustainability. György Kossa added: this is new, cooperative thinking between all the employees of the institution and the maintainer.
The chairman of the board of trustees emphasized that the University of Debrecen does not primarily consider Hungarian higher education institutions as its competitors, but rather wants to take its place on the international level.
We think in a slightly broader sense, so we consider Charles University in Prague or Jagiellonian University in Kraków as a benchmark. We need to reach their level because then we can say that our graduate students will receive a diploma that is very high internationally.

The chairman of the board of trustees pointed out that the University of Debrecen had also instructed the two institutions in an energy-themed ranking. According to György Kossa, the greatest value of a university is that the various disciplines complement each other to strengthen the institution, which is spectacularly reflected in research and education.
All this makes a rural university like Debrecen very attractive, which is also known for its special infrastructure, safe environment, and close connection to the city. As he said, the impact of the institution on the Partium and the Highlands is also extremely significant.
In the show, Görgy Kossa emphasized that compared to previous years, the university will support the publication of publications and the acquisition of appropriate qualifications to a greater extent and with more resources in the future.
