The University of Debrecen participates in about 60 percent of the clinical trials nationwide, and almost 400 of them are currently conducted at the institution, according to the Hungarian Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology organized by the University of Debrecen.
Due to the epidemic, the Training Days of Hungarian Clinical Pharmacologists, also organized by the University of Debrecen, were held online again this year, this time joined by 613 mainly Hungarian specialists. The event was attended by, among others, doctors performing clinical drug trials, drug development companies, pharmaceutical companies, and representatives of licensing authorities, said Péter Kovács, chairman of the organizing committee of the three-day conference. The professor of the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Debrecen Clinical Center said that during the 48 scientific presentations, the experts got acquainted with the current state of drug development of various companies and the results of such clinical trials at the University of Debrecen. The effects of the Covid epidemic and these drugs have also been discussed.
