Students and interested people could take a virtual tour of the Chekhov Museum in Yalta on Wednesday at an online event organized by the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Debrecen.
The Chekhov Museum in Yalta was the first to offer a virtual tour of the building and its surroundings, and at the end of the walk, the museum gave an online lecture to students of the University of Debrecen, including Russian, History-Russian, and Anglo-Russian professors.
Between 1899 and 1904, the one-story building in Yalta was home to Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, a writer, playwright, doctor, and one of the greatest figures in 19th-century Russian literature, including the Three Sisters and the Cherry Orchard. Since 1921, as a museum, it has been waiting for visitors with contemporary furnishings and the presentation of the writer’s objects of use.
The program series will soon continue with the presentation of additional authentic Russian language and literature sites, and on March 16, those interested will be able to visit the Bahrusin Theater Museum in Moscow, organized by the Institute of Slavic Studies, also at the University’s Russian Center.
