Students’ awareness, skills, and drop-out rates have improved thanks to a multi-year EU project at the Faculty of Economics. Among other things, tutoring and language courses, various training were held and the curriculum was developed with the support of the application.
Student dropouts have also been reduced by launching faculty tutoring courses at the Faculty of Economics within the framework of the project, catch-up courses were held on the subjects with the highest drop-out rates, with an average of 5 subjects per semester.
With the support of the multi-year program, curricula in Hungarian and English have been developed, which are also available in the e-learning system. The successful training of the students was also facilitated by the fact that annual diploma thesis, study, and data collection methodology training were organized. Instructors were given an English language course to support their foreign language teaching skills, including pedagogical methods.
The faculty has also launched a scholarship program for disadvantaged students in difficult circumstances due to the pandemic. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, workshops were held online but in large numbers for small and medium-sized businesses in the region in the areas of marketing management, financial accounting, tax knowledge, legal knowledge, and human resource management.
