The University of Debrecen organized a ceremony in the Hall on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. At the event, the Klebelsberg Kunó Prize, the Teacher Training Prize of the University of Debrecen, and the Béla Jausz Prize recognized the work of teachers teaching in UD’s practice schools and partner institutions.
The University of Debrecen plays a significant role in the public education of the city and the county through its practice schools, and the sacrificial work of the professionals working in these institutions is exemplary, he said at the award ceremony held on Thursday afternoon.
Teacher training is a key element in the career development chain, as teachers map talent, they build the professionals of the future. Their work is also the basis for the development of the region. A good teacher demonstrates the curriculum, but the best ones inspire students, who many years later remember not the buildings but the faces, radiance, and personality-shaping work of the teachers. These experiences can be decisive for a lifetime. A good pedagogue is also qualified by the moral and ethical values he/she represents, and the University of Debrecen has excellent results in this respect
– emphasized Zoltán Szilvássy, Rector of the University of Debrecen.
In his greeting, Chancellor Zoltán Bács emphasized that the important task of teachers is to prepare the future of young people and their appropriate career choices.
Their work is also important for the university and society because you are educating the next generation. The fact that young people choose the University of Debrecen depends primarily on the teachers. It does not matter to the city or the region how much they continue to study at UD, as these young people enrich and strengthen the local community. It is important for the students participating in teacher training that young people can also participate in practical education, which greatly helps their professional development,
– the chancellor added.
Péter Forisek, Director General of the Training Mapping Center of the University of Debrecen, emphasized that teaching is a huge responsibility, which can only be done with proper dedication, devotion, and humility towards the profession.
The University of Debrecen offers a wide range of education and training, but teacher training has been deeply embedded in the university since its inception. DE offers modern pedagogical knowledge, and in practice schools, young people can learn the most important elements of the profession from experienced mentors. Talent management will be a priority in all practice institutions, and we are particularly proud of the results achieved by students at these institutions this school year,
– the principal noted.
At the Teachers’ Day ceremony, the teachers who performed outstanding professional work and taught at the University of Debrecen and in its practice schools and partner institutions were awarded. The UD management awarded them the Klebelsberg Kunó Prize, the University of Debrecen Teacher Training Prize, and the Béla Jausz Prize for their sacrificial work.
The Klebelsberg Kunó Award is given to an educator who has achieved high-quality, exemplary results in education, talent management, and preparation for further learning. This year, Zsolt Krakomperger, a high school teacher at the Lajos Kossuth Gymnasium and Primary School of the University of Debrecen, received the award.
The University of Debrecen Teacher Training Award is given to a university lecturer, researcher, or employee who has carried out outstanding activities for several years in order to train the university. This year, the award went to Annamária Pósánné Rácz, Director of Education at the University of Debrecen.
The teachers of the practice schools and partner schools of the University of Debrecen were recognized with the Béla Jausz Prize for their outstanding training in the field of teacher training at the university and for their outstanding results in the field of education. In 2022, the Senate of the University of Debrecen awarded the recognition to one teacher each and two teachers from two partner schools.
