The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen organizes five-day summer camps for high school and primary school students in July. Those interested in IT can gain up-to-date knowledge in the field of data science and programming.
The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen will hold its summer camps again this year, which will reopen the Kassai út building to secondary school and primary school students. Participants in the thirty-person camps will be introduced to the Faculty of Informatics’s research labs, state-of-the-art IT tools, and modern technologies used in education. In addition, in addition to the guidance of the prepared staff of the faculty, the candidates can also get an insight into the details of a research project taking place at the Faculty of Informatics.
The summer camps of the Faculty of Informatics can also provide useful knowledge for those who do not yet have programming and algorithmization skills, but also for those who are already familiar with more complex programming languages and are interested in artificial intelligence, data science, and self-driving vehicles. Students visiting the faculty will also be able to meet the latest IT developments and research areas in July.
High schools starting in September are 9-12. a five-day summer camp will be held for its grade students from 4 to 8 July. Interested students can get acquainted with the mysteries of programming, and the structure of different algorithms, learn to use algorithm description tools and gain insight into the everyday life of faculty, researchers, and students of the Faculty of Informatics. Primary schools start on September 7-8. A programming camp will be held for students in the classroom from July 11 to 15, where children will learn how to make the applications they use every day, and in addition to learning programming skills through practical and playful tasks, they will learn about the dynamically evolving areas of computer science. For high school students interested in data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, including e-sports, and digital arts, July 13-20. The Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen will start its summer camp in data science. Those interested can gain practical and theoretical knowledge in areas related to data sciences, such as self-management, facial recognition, chat robot development, or game development/e-sports, with the help of nationally and internationally recognized professionals and educators. High school students can apply here until Thursday, July 7 at 4 p.m.
