Medical diagnostic analysts, certified health psychologists, clinical laboratory researchers, and molecular biologists received their diplomas at the University of Debrecen on Saturday at the closing ceremony of the Faculty of Medicine. 95 Hungarian and foreign students completed their studies in the faculty’s shared bachelor’s and master’s programs.

The University of Debrecen is the university with the most colorful training palette in our country. Based on the scientific performance of our institution, it also occupied a prominent place in the ranking of domestic and international higher education institutions last year. We have deservedly earned recognition with our results, dynamic developments, and balanced management. They should be proud of the fact that they obtained their knowledge and diploma at one of the country’s most prestigious, high-quality universities even by international standards

– Norbert Németh, deputy dean of the Faculty of Medicine, began his celebratory speech.

The professor emphasized: that laboratory and imaging diagnostics, as well as molecular biology, are among the most dynamically developing fields within medicine and health sciences. Often automated instruments supported by a computer and IT background, digital imaging techniques, laboratory testing methods, genetic technology and personalized medicine play an increasingly important role in modern medicine and become part of daily practical work. In order to manage and interpret large amounts of information, a much higher level of theoretical and practical knowledge is needed than before.

In addition to specialists, modern medicine and health sciences require many specialists who are able to independently interpret the results in the diagnostic laboratories of hospitals, in the areas of imaging diagnostics, in biomedical research laboratories, and in the pharmaceutical industry. This requires not only good practical sense but also serious theoretical preparation based on modern knowledge. We need employees who are able to use modern instrumentation and measurement technology, understand why what is being measured, and what the measurement is based on, are proficient in modern methods of data processing and are capable of independently expanding their theoretical and practical knowledge in the long term in their own field, for its continuous growth

– emphasized the deputy dean.

43 people graduated from the medical diagnostic analytical basic course of the Faculty of Medicine, 23 from the master’s course in health psychology, 10 from the master’s course in clinical laboratory research, and 19 from the master’s course in molecular biology, who received their diplomas after taking the oath.
