New water management and tillage procedures, technologies, the use of scientific research results, and a unified farming community are needed to keep the drought-stricken Hungarian agriculture afloat – declared Minister of Agriculture István Nagy at the opening of the 31st Farmer Expo held at the Böszörményi út campus of the University of Debrecen.
The drought emergency operative group wants to provide tangible help to farmers by, among other things, introducing a credit moratorium for farmers, speeding up the payment of drought insurance, and taking over the insurance costs.
