Dosimeters developed by the Centre for Energy Research of the Eötvös Loránd Research Network (ELKH) will be carried into space by the test capsule Orion as part of the launch of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket.
The dosimeters will provide key data on cosmic radiation for the future creation of spaceships carrying human crews, a space station in orbit around the Moon, and a lunar base, ELKH said on Monday. The SLS was scheduled to be launched on Monday but the launch was postponed until Friday because of technical difficulties.
