One of the city’s most prestigious awards, the Silver Pelican Award, was awarded to the University of Debrecen by the municipality of Szolnok. Chancellor Zoltán Bács accepted the award on Thursday evening in Szolnok, at a ceremony organized on the occasion of City Day.
The higher education cooperation between the University of Debrecen and Szolnok started in 2019 with the merger of the Faculty of Economics of János Neumann University. 240 first-year students of the Szolnok faculty enrolled that year as students at the Debrecen institution, with a total of 700 students studying economics there. Since then, the training offer has been expanded at the Szolnok Campus of the University of Debrecen.
