Environmental protection, occupational safety, and fire protection issues were discussed at the technical day of the Environmental Engineering Department of the University of Debrecen on Thursday. At the EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) conference held with the participation of 120 people, university experts and representatives of industry companies and municipalities presented current topics in the field in 26 presentations.
Among other things, trends in the recyclable waste market, safe storage, material handling; hazardous waste management; predictable crop production technologies; and the utilization of so-called gray water for irrigation were discussed at the professional meeting of the Department of Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Technology of the University of Debrecen (DE MK). At the EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) forum held for the second time, the focus was on environmental protection, health protection, occupational safety, and fire protection.
The purpose of the EHS specialist further training is to train engineers/professionals with up-to-date technical, work and fire protection, environmental health, and environmental management knowledge who are able to develop, develop and implement local regulations for work and fire protection, chemical and industrial safety to comply with, to identify and assess potential environmental harm and dangers, to prevent and reduce environmental damage, and to manage damage prevention activities. Based on relevant legal knowledge, appropriate technological solutions are developed and applied to achieve workplace and corporate EHS tasks and goals.
