Special education teachers, kindergarten teachers, gemologists, infant and toddler educators, and social pedagogues received their diplomas in the Dísudvara of the University of Debrecen Main Building on Thursday. The students of the Faculty of Child Education and Special Education who studied at the faculty’s external training in Beregszasz also received their diplomas.
This time, 73 people graduated from the full-time program and 85 from the correspondence program in the basic program of special education at the Faculty of Child Education and Special Education (DE GYGYK) of the University of Debrecen. 46 students graduated full-time in the kindergarten teacher basic course, 50 in the correspondence course, and 1 student graduated in the correspondence section of the national kindergarten teacher major. 3 graduated from the full-time Romology course, 14 from the full-time infant and toddler education course, and 20 from the correspondence course. In the social pedagogy basic course of the faculty, 9 people completed their studies on a full-time course and 15 on a correspondence course. 7 people received diplomas in the social pedagogy basic course – at the training location in Beregszasz – in the correspondence section. In the GYGYK master’s course in social pedagogy, 17 passed the final exam, and 138 passed the required requirements and obtained a certificate in specialized continuing education courses. Due to the large number of students, the students received their diplomas in two ceremonies.
Today, a total of 340 final students can receive their diplomas. Thanks to their successful studies, they have entered intellectual life and can start their careers as teachers. The road leading up to this point was not ordinary, as this is the graduating year whose studies were hampered by the epidemic situation. It fills me with pride that, thanks to joint efforts with you, we managed to solve these problems
– said Dean Erzsébet Gortka-Rákó in her celebratory speech.
The head of the faculty reminded that the students study in unusual conditions in Beregszász, where the II. In cooperation with the Ferenc Rákóczi Subcarpathian Hungarian College, the social pedagogy major was launched in 2017 as part of an outsourced training.
He praises the perseverance and desire for knowledge of the students there, that they continued their studies despite the war and that seven of them will receive their diplomas today. The students in the lower grades are also diligent, they are currently expanding their knowledge in online education
– explained the dean.
Erzsébet Gortka-Rákó emphasized that there are specialists in front of her who have well-founded theoretical and practical knowledge, who have acquired the knowledge and competences necessary for raising young children, developing children with special educational needs and supporting people with a difficult fate.
After the swearing-in and the handing over of diplomas, the best graduates were recognized.
The Memorial Award for Hajdúböszörmény Higher Education was awarded to Magdolna Töviskes, head of the Hajdúböszörmény Social Services Center, and Eleonora Teszenyi, assistant professor at the Open University.
The Outstanding Worker of the Faculty award was received by Nikolett Bódiné Müller, financial administrator, and the Dean’s Certificate of Recognition was awarded this time to associate professor Balázs Molnár for his decades of work at the Department of Child Education. As part of the graduation ceremony, the faculty’s consultant teacher awards were also presented.
