More than 80 people received diplomas at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen on Friday. It was said at Dísudvara of the institution: pharmacy is still one of the professions in short supply, with this diploma it is easy to find a job both at home and abroad. At the event, outgoing dean Miklós Vecsernyés introduced the new head of the faculty, former deputy dean Ildikó Bácskay.
A total of 62 Hungarian and 19 foreign students were inaugurated as doctors of pharmacy at the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen (DE GYTK). Miklós Vecsernyés, the dean of the faculty, said that GYTK has a busy period behind it.
We gained first-hand experience of what it means to change the model of higher education and to operate in the form of a foundation. This new system required a different type of thinking and a transformation of the faculty’s operational strategy from us
– he said.
He highlighted that construction is well underway in DE’s Vezér utca industrial park, and the new central building of GYTK is scheduled to be completed next year.

He emphasized: as a result of the work of the faculty, an internationally recognized pharmaceutical science center was established in Debrecen.
Miklós Vecsernyés announced that his term as dean has come to an end, and he will be succeeded by Professor Ildikó Bácskay, the previous deputy dean of education at the faculty.
Several awards were presented at the ceremony. Pharmacists Tamás Lesznyák, Mária Józsefné Pozsár and Péter Papp were recognized as Outstanding Teaching Pharmacists of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen. The commemorative plaque of the Géza Mezey award was given to the newly inaugurated doctor of pharmacy, Richárd Kajtár, and Pálma Fehér and Gábor Vasvári, assistant professors of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of the GYTK. Teaching assistant Demeter Fruzsina received the Ferenc Sztaricskai Memorial Award.
As a reward for their participation in the Talent Care Program of the University of Debrecen, 22 people received a DETEP commemorative plaque. Among the newly inaugurated pharmacists, Attila Máté Csapó received the University of Debrecen Rector’s Certificate of Recognition, and Dániel Czuczku received the Outstanding Student Award of the University of Debrecen.
Dániel Heller received the Certificate of Recognition from the President of the Student Self-Government, and Pham Ngoc Trinh received the Certificate of Recognition from the President and Vice-President of the Student Self-Government.
