Professionals shaping the future graduated from the Faculty of Informatics

Business informaticians, engineering informaticians, program design informaticians and IT teachers received their diplomas at the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen. A total of 224 students received diplomas in full-time and correspondence courses. At the event organized in the Dísudvara of the Main Building, the teachers and students of the faculty who performed outstanding work were also awarded.


At the graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Informatics, students who graduated from the majors of Business Informatics, Engineering Informatics, Program Planning Informatics, IT Teacher-Mathematics, IT Teacher-Hungarian, Business Informatics Engineer, Computer Scientist, and Computer Science Engineer received diplomas. A total of 224 people successfully passed the final exam in bachelor’s, master’s and undivided courses on a full-time basis and by correspondence and were able to receive their diploma. In the 2022/23 academic year of the University of Debrecen, 172 full-time bachelor’s degree students and 32 full-time master’s degree students completed their studies.

András Hajdu, dean of the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Debrecen, emphasized in his celebratory speech that IT constantly presents challenges to young professionals, whose work is most needed these days.

This diploma opens up many opportunities for employment and further education. Due to the processes taking place in the world, the acquired information technology knowledge will be useful in all areas, and diverse and wide-ranging social tasks await the newly graduated professionals. Due to the outstanding attention to the field, significant expectations must also be met, because IT is experiencing continuous changes, the advances made in the field of artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, and neural networks result in spectacular innovation in all areas of society. Modern IT has great potential in decision-making, and developments related to information technologies, data use, data management, and data protection have also become central topics. All of this can lead to new technological developments, and without awareness and proper management, these technologies can also have harmful effects, for this reason, IT professionals must responsibly and ethically participate in the social dialogue regarding IT innovations and the use of intelligent systems

Awards donated by the Faculty of Informatics and the Student Government of the University of Debrecen were also presented at the graduation ceremony. This year, professor János Sztrik was awarded the Informatics Faculty Medal for his work on the development of the Doctoral School of Informatics Sciences, and the Informatics Faculty Award was awarded to Tamás Attila Adamkó, associate professor of the Department of Information Technology, for his high-quality work in the faculty’s research and development activities. for his work, as well as Anett Rácz, assistant professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Probability, for his excellent research and research organization activities. This year, Mária Csernoch, associate professor of the Department of Computer Science, was awarded the Outstanding Teacher of the Faculty of Informatics award for her outstanding teaching activities in the field of methodological training.

In addition, the Certificate of Appreciation of the President of the Student Government of the University of Debrecen, the Certificate of Appreciation of the President and Vice-President of the Student Government of the University of Debrecen, the Outstanding Worker of the Faculty of Informatics award, the Student Commemorative Medals of the Faculty of Informatics were also awarded, as well as the students who participated in the University of Debrecen Talent Care In his program.
