Those interested can taste the food and drinks of many international cuisines on this year’s International Food Day. On Friday, May 3, at the north gate of the Nagyerdei Stadium, in the square in front of the Hall, thirty teams can choose from almost a hundred dishes at the gastronomic event organized for the 17th time this year.
The International Food Day is the largest and most popular event of the International Student Union (ISU), which brings together foreign students of the University of Debrecen, in the institution, and this year it will be bigger, more exciting and tastier than ever before, the organizers promise.
More than 7,300 students from 134 countries study at the University of Debrecen, Food Day mobilizes the entire international student community. The foreign students are looking forward to this event and are excitedly preparing. We have acquired all the special ingredients needed for the meals, and the acai berries of the Brazilian team have also arrived. This year, for the first time, we are expecting students from other universities, and this year we had to choose a new location for the event, as we outgrew the space in front of the university’s main building. This also shows how popular Food Day is among young people

At the event starting on Friday at 2 p.m., the University of Debrecen will host Albanian, Algerian, Angolan, Bangladeshi, Brazilian, South African, Egyptian, Philippine, Indian, Iraqi, Israeli, Japanese, Jordanian, Kazakh, Kenyan, Chinese, Kosovar, Laotian, Lebanese, students from Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Syria, Sudan, Thailand and Tunisia will give you a taste of their national dishes.
At the international culinary cavalcade, visitors to the Big Forrest can get to know not only the flavors of the world but also the multicultural community of the University of Debrecen.
This year, the event also serves a charitable purpose, the organization bringing together foreign students of the University of Debrecen supports the Leukemia Children’s Foundation.
