Graduates of the Faculty of Law at the University of Debrecen received their diplomas in a ceremony held in the Main Building’s Courtyard on Wednesday. This time, 76 students graduated in law, 13 in the master’s program for European and International Business Law, and 221 in judicial administration and legal higher education programs.
In her welcome speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Szikora Veronika, highlighted that this graduation ceremony had the highest attendance ever, with more than 300 participants.
“With perseverance, diligence, logical thinking, professional humility, and love, we can achieve all our goals. The moment of receiving your diploma marks the beginning of a new chapter in your life. Be proud to have attended the University of Debrecen,”

The dean also reminded the graduates that the structure of the programs includes opportunities for further studies, with specialized further training open to legal colleagues and practitioners from other fields as well. She added that new programs in compliance and health law will start in September.
Zsuzsanna Árva, the Vice Dean for Education, announced that during the spring final exam period of the 2023/24 academic year, 76 students completed their studies in the full-time and part-time law programs, 13 in the master’s program for European and International Business Law, and 221 in the full-time and part-time judicial administration and legal higher education programs.
In addition, 19 candidates met the qualification requirements in the specialized further training program for alternative dispute resolution and mediation law, 9 in consumer protection law, 1 in HR law, 3 in HR consulting and human policy, 36 in real estate law, 9 in criminology law, and 2 in the criminology law enforcement specialist training program.
Following the oath-taking and diploma presentation, awards were also distributed at the ceremony.
Seventeen participants in the UD Talent Management Program received Rector’s commendations. Pete Miklós, a graduate in law, received the UD Excellent Student Award.
Rebeka Szilágyi, Vice President of the UD Faculty of Law Student Government, received a Certificate of Recognition from the UD Student Government Executive Board, and Sára Hegedűs, a law graduate, received the Student Government Executive Board Certificate of Recognition.
Lili Mezei, a member of the Dormitory Cultural Committee, received the Certificate of Recognition from the President and Vice President of the Student Government. Barna Nóra earned the Pro Praetor Award for her work at the UD Faculty of Law Praetor College. The Domokos Lajos Award was presented to Anna Nóra Barna, Sára Örzse Hegedűs, and Sebestyén Márk Pella.
