Most Hungarian people usually travel inland to celebrate New Year’s Eve. According to Trivago.com among the most popular holiday destinations there are only seven abroad.According to the report of Trivago.com Budapest has the first place on the list of popular New Year’s Eve destinations, while Prague is the second followed by the thermal water centre Hajdúszoboszló, then Hévíz, Eger, Paris, Rome and Vienna.
Szeged and Győr are in the top ten, while the second half of the list of the 20 most popular holiday destinations there are Siófok, Debrecen, Zalakaros, Zakopane, Sopron, Pécs, Visegrád, Dubai, Amsterdam and Bükfürdő.
Most expensive destination of the list is Dubai with approximately 96,000 HuF per night, the second is Zakopane with about 93,000 HuF, and the third is Bükfürdő with 76,000 HuF per night.
Trivago.com also states that thermal water and wellness hotel services are the most appreciated by Hungarian tourists in winter. According to the data of Trivago.com Czech, Slovenian and Serbian people prefer traveling abroad at the end of 2017.
