The number of bookings at commercial accommodations in Hungary for September and October are “well over” the number in the same period a year earlier and suggest fourth-quarter guest nights could exceed levels in 2019, before the pandemic, bookings site Szallas.hu said in an analysis, noting that revenue per available room on its bookings rose by 57% in the second quarter from the same period in 2019.
During that period, reservation numbers increased by 15%, while the number of guests grew by 13%, it added. In the third quarter, long-weekends are giving the sector a boost, but the lack of Russian guests, the tight labour market and bad weather has weighed, Szallas.hu spokesperson Lili Kelemen said.
