Hungarian State Would Buy Golgota for 3 Billion Forints

One of the most important exhibited works of art in Debrecen is the Golgota in the Munkácsy Hall of the Déri Museum. The owner of the painting is currently Imre Pákh. Previously, the Hungarian state wanted to get the picture by having it declared protected, but it did not happen. Now, the government is ready to purchase Mihaly Munkácsy’s painting for 3 billion HuF. The ATV channel also contacted Pákh, who indicated that he was willing to sell the picture for three billion forints.

Previously, the state promised 1.6 billion HuF for the painting, but finally there was no business, because Pákh wanted 2.5 billion for the picture.
