On Monday (13th of August), a government decision was issued that it would not be possible to use Russian Kaspersky Lab virus scanners on government computers in the future. They might be intimidated by the Russian Intelligence Service…Apparently, the Hungarian government does not seem to believe that the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Company is safe and that the program is not connected to the Russians. On Monday, a government decision was issued that it is practically prohibited to use the Russian Kaspersky Lab software on governmental computers.
According to the government’s decision, using Kaspersky is not prohibited in Hungary, but government machines will not use the Russian antivirus software any more.
The United States blew up the bomb a year ago with their first restrictive action against Kaspersky Lab’s antivirus software. According to the USA, the program is directly linked to the Kremlin in Moscow. In September 2017, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a mandatory operational directive that government agencies should remove Kaspersky Lab software from their computers within 90 days as they could endanger US national security.
According to Kaspersky, these accusations are false, so first they offered a look into their source code, and then in December, 2017 they decided to sue the US government. Meanwhile, Israeli agents have caught Russian spies, when they were working with the Kaspersky Anti-Virus program.
