The Obstetrics Clinic in Debrecen recently announced on its Facebook page that until the gratitude issue is settled, the system of the “received” doctor and midwife will be abolished.
It was written that this was not an instruction from the management of the Obstetrics Clinic, the Clinical Center in Debrecen or the University of Debrecen, but a unanimous decision of the staff of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic in Debrecen.
The ban on the choice of doctors and midwives was not an undivided success, there was a lawyer who felt legally concerned about the decision.
The Ministry of Human Resources also took a stand on Saturday. In its reply to the RTL Club, EMMI stated:
The fundamental right to free choice of doctor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Debrecen cannot be restricted by reference to the withdrawal of gratitude money.
According to the health lawyer who spoke in the newsletter, health care institutions would need central regulation.
