Debrecen received a new multifunctional game area as a gift

The newest community space in Debrecen was handed over on April 21, the event was attended by Mayor László Papp, Member of Parliament László Tasó, local government representative Edina Szilágyi and József Modrovics – writes Debrecen.hu.

MUGA is a multifunctional play area developed on Liget Square in the tap garden. The new facility offers the opportunity to practice several sports – football, basketball, floorball, futsal, frisbee, roller skating – in one area.

“Liget Square is one of the most important recreation centers of this wonderful part of the city, which gives children, parents and the elderly the opportunity to relax, talk and play sports here,” emphasized László Papp, Mayor.

Liget Square has been completely transformed and renewed in recent years. By May 2020, the Type D gym was completed. At the end of August last year, thanks to the program called “Ours is the space here”, the residents were able to enjoy new developments such as the event space, baby playground and pedestrian promenade. Benches and bins were not forgotten either.

“A couple of weeks ago, we started the construction of the road on Keresszegi Street, then the cleaning of the city started from here and now the community of Csapókert is enriched with another element,” said Edina Szilágyi, the municipal representative.

The development of Liget Square will continue this year. Among other things, a 550-square-meter record will include a running track, an outdoor ping-pong table, a yoga room, and a foot tennis court, read in the announcement.
