A memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the agriculture sector between the farm ministries of Hungary and Kazakhstan was signed in Nur-Sultan.
The agreement signed by Hungarian Agriculture Minister István Nagy and his Kazakh counterpart Saparkhan Omarov “gives clear direction for partnership in the future”, Hungary’s Agriculture Ministry said. “Kazakhstan is one of the most important states in Central Asia and holds great opportunities for Hungary’s agriculture sector, too. There is great potential in a meeting of the world-class Hungarian planting seed industry and Kazakhstan’s enormous areas of arable land, especially with regard to maize,” Nagy said. He added that Hungary could share best practices involving the application of smart technologies in farming, while cooperation between integrated university and research networks in the two countries could be expanded.
