A report was received by police on Monday night that an elderly man had been robbed in his home in Berekböszörmény. The victim reported to police that an unknown young man demanded money from him with a brushcutter in his hand. The man handed over only 770 forints in cash to his assailant, who then hurriedly left the property.
Police conducted a detailed data collection and witness search, which resulted in the identification of the alleged perpetrator after a few hours. The 15-year-old local boy was arrested at his home and then taken into criminal custody after questioning him. The young man testified, handed over the 770 forints to the police, and showed them where he hid the brushcutter after the crime was committed.
The Berettyóújfalu Police Headquarters launched an investigation into a well-founded suspicion of committing an armed robbery.
