In August 2020, the Lighthouse ON group light art exhibition held in the building of the Csokonai Theater in Debrecen was of great success.
In Debrecen, artistic work with light dates back several decades, and Lighthouse aims to promote domestic and international lighting art and thinking about light, taking care of the heritage of Hungarian science and art: the space-creating power of light.
In February and March 20201, the Lighthouse group, in cooperation with the Déri Museum, Csokonai Theater and the Cívis House will open an empty shop as a casual storefront gallery, in compliance with the current epidemiological restrictions and they continue the series of space-specific light installations.
Closed behind glass, yet making their light creations safe for anyone to view.
Andrea Sztojánovits’s interactive light installation FÉSZEK, together with the sound composition of Gergely Álmos (mïus), using the medium of augmented reality – with content that can be displayed on passers-by’s own mobile phones – and Ivó Kovács’s Searchlight installation transforms the street showroom which was previously a bakery shop (67. Piac street).
The project was supported by the National Cultural Fund.
