Debrecen hosted the Field Target National Championships in mid June 2010. The best Hungarian shooters competed with and against German, Italian, English, Polish, and Bulgarian shooters. It was a World Cup test event.
Debrecen will be the host of the Field Target World Championships between 1-3 October.
They playing this sports in woods or fields shooting on special (pictures of rabbits, squirrels, rats on it) steel plates using special spring or compressed air rifles. Currently in around 30 countries practicing this sport. Germany, Poland, Italy and Great Britain are the storngest competitors of this kind of sport.
In Hungary nearly forty contests a year ensure the success of hungarian shooters. They regularly stake themselves competitions abroad too. Now more than 120 domestic competitors accountable.
Last year South Africa was the host of the World Championships and they have decided to gather in Debrecen, Hungary this year.
Thanks to the preliminary feedback about 220 competitors will take part in the World Championships.
