Piac Street and Kossuth Square are like winter wonderland now: the festive lights have been lit in Sunday afternoon and the sellers of the Christmas Fair has opened their stands. The Downtown is full of Christmas spirit.
The lit of the festive lights was the first event of the series of programs called Advent in Debrecen. The representatives of Christian churches and the Mayor lit the first candle on the Advent Wreath together.
At the "Table of Love" spiritual thoughts and a set table were waiting for the ones preparing to Christmas. In the Memorial Garden behind the Yellow Church, the interested ones can see a life-size Bethlehem installation that will be expanded with new figures week by week.
This year, for the first time in history, the "real" Santa Claus from Lapland will also visit to Debrecen. He is coming on 10 December – small and big children can meet him on Kossuth Square.
