The 44th Flower Carnival is organized between 15 and 21 August in Debrecen.
Being the largest event of the summer in Debrecen, the Flower Carnival attracts several visitors to the town in every August. The carnival and carnival week before the special parade offer various events and colorful sights.
The top of the events is the Flower Carnival itself on 20 August, the day of Saint Stephen. 20 August is one of the most important national holidays in Hungary: it commemorates the foundation of the Hungarian state. Debrecen celebrates 20 August with the world famous flower carnival since 1966.
