The City of Debrecen places great emphasis on the safety of the institutions it maintains, due to the increasing number of coronavirus infections.
Mayor László Papp announced at the press conference he held on 2 September 2020 that the use of masks covering the face would be an obligation in the interior of cultural institutions maintained by the municipality (museums, theatres, libraries). The necessary protective equipment will be provided to every employee by the municipality. Furthermore, it will deliver several thousand face-masks to the institutions concerned. The city leader called attention to the fact that the most effective way of protection against the epidemic is social distancing, according to the current state of medicine.
