Technical completion is at 25 per cent in Főnix Hall. The arena is being renewed in connection with the 2022 European Men’s Handball Championship.
The hall will undergo several improvements, including the installation of a camera system complying with the requirements of the international federation. The details were presented at a press event accompanied by a site inspection on 28 June 2021. The renovation is expected to last until the end of October. The renovated Főnix Hall is to host a short track speed skating world cup already in November, and six matches will be played here between 13 and 17 January 2022 in the group round of the European Men’s Handball Championship in Hungarian-Slovakian joint organisation.
