The management of the city of Debrecen decided to dismantle the barrier system of the car park on Jászai Mari square after taking into account the needs of the citizens. The car park can accommodate 100 vehicles and is jointly operated by Cívis Ház Zrt. and DV Parking Kft. The operating rules of the car park will change from 1st October 2021.
The site previously operated as an economic business car park will now be available for residential use, with conditions similar to downtown surface parking. From now on, motorists parking in the square will be able to buy tickets from the newly placed vending machine and with a mobile phone, László Pósán, Member of Parliament, said.
Discounted daily tickets can be bought via the website of DV Parking Kft., he added.
Previously, residents could not use this parking lot the way they wanted. The dismantling of the barrier on 1st October will make the entry, the exit, and the parking more flexible and smooth, the local government representative József Heteiemphasized. With the removal of the barrier, both residential tenants and people with reduced mobility will also be able to use the former business car park. It will also be possible for residents living in the area or nearby, or those with appropriate rights to use it with a discounted residential pass, thereby unifying with the downtown parking operating system, Hetei added.
The parking hours and the parking fee will be the same as the adjacent surface parking and waiting areas, HUF 480 / hour. Parking fees will be charged between 8 am and 6 pm on weekdays and between 8 am and 2 pm on Saturdays.
There are currently 40 discounted Jászai passes issued for the Jászai car park. DV Parking Kft will accept these. until the expiry date or 31st December 2021 at the latest. New Jászai passes can’t be bought from 1st October. Those who want to buy a pass can buy it for the Széchényi car park.
