He recalled that when Dósa Palatin Square was transformed as part of the Green City Program, the parking spaces there were removed, but now a 207-space, four-level, but actually 7 half-level, underground garage is being created, with a total floor area of 7,000 m².
Speaking about the works, he said that the internal works are currently taking place inside the garage, which consists of electrical installations, as well as the design of internal utilities and mechanical parts. The city manager emphasized that there will be parking spaces suitable for charging electric cars inside the garage. A total of 21 parking spots suitable for placing double chargers will be created, 10 double chargers will be installed in the first round, so 20 electric cars can park and charge their batteries in the underground garage.
He added that by the end of the year, the parking garage must be completed according to the contract, after which the occupancy permit procedure will begin, and the city’s residents will be able to take possession of the complex at the beginning of next year, at the end of January. He emphasized that the underground garage will be of great service in terms of the accessibility of shops in the area, and if the municipality moves back to the Old Town Hall building – which will also begin at the end of the year and will gradually last until the middle of the year – then this will be of great importance in terms of customer traffic. the construction of a capacity parking garage.
I am glad that despite all the difficulties in recent years, the pandemic, the energy crisis, price increases and inflation did not stop the city’s desire to invest and its program at all. We will implement everything we promised in 2019 by the end of this cycle
– the mayor underlined.
