Péter Rádi, the chairman of the National Election Committee (NVB), resigned from his post and returned his mandate as member of the body on Friday, the National Election Office said.
Rádi, a lawyer, had been a member of the NVB since 2015. He was elected chairman of the body on August 14, 2018, to replace András Patyi. NVB will be led until the election of a new chairperson by vice chair Éva Bozsóki.
NVB’s seven members, including the chairman and the three alternate members, are elected by parliament for a nine-year term on the proposal of the Hungarian president.
