Miklós Soltész, state secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office for church and ethnic minority relations, attended the inauguration of a sports hall in Lunca de Jos (Gyimesközéplok), in central Romania, built with financing from the Hungarian state.
In his address, Soltész said that the Hungarian government was committed to providing assistance to such projects with the aim of helping the community develop, which would then contribute to stronger national cohesion and survival of the community. Ethnic Hungarians will survive “if they maintain their Christian faith and stay faithful to their nation and language”, Soltész said.
The 1,360sqm facility was named after the late ethnic Hungarian bishop Áron Márton.
