The “Expat CEO of the Year” award was given to Marc de Bastos Eckstein, executive director of thyssenkrupp Components Hungary, while HIPA’s special supplier award was given to Frank Müller, head of VW Regional Office Eastern Europe.Foreign CEOs make up the main target group and key partners of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA), co-organiser of the event. The main task of the organisation is to attract as much investment to Hungary as possible, but it also makes substantial efforts to recommend high-quality Hungarian suppliers for investors in Hungary.
Róbert Ésik, president of HIPA said the following in his speech: “In 2017, investment promotion in Hungary made a record: with HIPA’s support, 96 investment projects and the highest investment value of all time were brought to Hungary.”
