The Debrecen municipality will lift the first-degree water restriction from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, following a recommendation from Debrecen Waterworks (Debreceni Vízmű Zrt.), City Hall announced on Monday, according to MTI.
The statement highlighted that the restriction had been introduced by the Debrecen municipality on August 3. The measure, implemented during the heat alert, was intended to ensure a continuous and uninterrupted supply of drinking water.
During the restriction period, it was prohibited to water green areas and public spaces with drinking water using hoses or irrigation equipment, fill swimming pools, clean or cool concrete, asphalt or decorative stone surfaces, wash cars, or operate fountains and ornamental wells. The water replacement in pools at private and public beaches, spas and wellness hotels also had to be rescheduled in coordination with the water utility provider.
According to the municipality, the disciplined and conscious use of water by both residential and non-residential consumers helped prevent pressure fluctuations and water shortages.
