Major grocery chains will be closed on August 20, but from Friday they will return to their usual opening hours for the four-day long weekend.
Aldi, Auchan, Lidl, Penny and Tesco have informed customers that their stores will be closed on Thursday, August 20, but will operate according to their usual schedules on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The opening hours of most CBA and Spar stores will follow a similar pattern, although there may be exceptions among franchise-operated stores. Some stores at petrol stations, railway stations and Ferenc Liszt International Airport may also remain open. Smaller shops may also have individual opening hours.
Kifli.hu will suspend deliveries on August 20 but will resume the service on August 21, meaning orders will be accepted and delivered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the company told MTI.
According to foodora, foodora MARKET will operate as usual throughout the four-day weekend, while both grocery and food delivery services will remain available during the August 20 public holiday.
